Verified Materials. Greater Confidence.

Material integrity and traceability are fundamental to the quality of our products. TECNI uses specialist alloy analysis equipment to verify the material composition of stainless steel stock when it enters our facility.

This additional verification helps confirm that materials match the specified alloy grade before being used in manufacturing or supplied to customers.

Thermo Scientific Niton XL5 Alloy Analyser

Our Thermo Scientific Niton XL5 is a compact handheld analyser that uses X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology to identify metallic alloy grades and determine elemental composition.

The non-destructive process provides rapid results, enabling our Quality Team to check stainless steel materials efficiently while maintaining their original condition.

Alloy Grade Identification

Verification of stainless steel alloy grades against specified material requirements.

Elemental Analysis

Measurement of detectable elemental composition to support material identification.

Non-Destructive Testing

Material analysis without altering or damaging the component being tested.

Quality Control

Additional verification of incoming stainless steel stock to support consistent material standards.

How Material Verification Works

Our material verification process supports product identification and quality assurance throughout the supply chain.

1

Material Identification

Stainless steel stock is identified and checked as part of our quality control procedures.

2

XRF Analysis

The Niton XL5 analyses detectable elements to assist with confirming the material's alloy grade.

3

Verification & Reporting

Results are reviewed against the required material specification, with documentation available where requested.

Material Reports & Certificates

TECNI can provide material reports and certificates documenting the results of in-house material verification for suitable products.

These reports provide additional assurance by recording the results of alloy analysis and supporting customer quality control and traceability requirements.

Material Identification

Details of the material or component tested, where applicable.

Alloy Analysis Results

Recorded elemental analysis and identified alloy grade, subject to the capabilities of the testing method.

Supporting Traceability

Relevant identification details to support product and material records.

Customer Documentation

Material verification information for purchasing, inspection and quality assurance purposes.

Material Certification Pricing

£25 per item

Material analysis reports and certificates are available for selected products. The charge applies individually to each item requiring certification.

Please select the material certification option when ordering eligible products online, or contact our team to discuss your requirements.

Understanding XRF Material Verification

X-ray fluorescence analysis is a non-destructive method used to identify metallic alloys through their detectable elemental composition.

It is particularly useful for checking stainless steel alloy grades and identifying material discrepancies.

XRF verification is not a substitute for every form of material certification. Where a particular standard, full chemical analysis or manufacturer-issued material certificate is required, please advise our team before ordering.

Supporting TECNI Quality Assurance

Our material verification processes form part of TECNI's wider commitment to quality, traceability and reliable manufacturing standards.

TECNI operates an ISO 9001:2015- certified Quality Management System, supported by dedicated inspection and quality control procedures.
