The William Hackett C4 Chain Hoist is designed, manufactured and proof load tested in the UK. This tough, heavy duty manual hoist has created the foundations for other developed models such as the C4 QP and SS C4 QP.

The WH C4 is perfect for everyday use, one-off lifts or as part of a fleet. We provide a full range of spare parts and can offer training on safe use and inspection.

Applications & Advice

Manual Chain hoists are typically used to lift and lower loads vertically. The top hook is usually suspended from a William Hackett clamp or trolley which is attached to a tested beam.

The hoist is operated by the handchain loop, pull clockwise to lift and anticlockwise to lower. The reduction gears and mechanical advantage of the hoist enables a single operator to lift the load manually without power.

Where the load is not vertical to the suspension point, William Hackett chain hoists have been independently tested and verified to fleet and cross-hall up to a 45o angle with no deration in WLL. Chain collectors are available on request to stop the load chain coming into contact with the load.

Combined hoists and trolleys offer an excellent alternative for areas where headroom is too restrictive to achieve the desired height of lift.

Technical Info

LIGHT LOAD CAPABILITY: tested and certified at 2% of the chain hoist rated capacity.

TWIN PAWL: fitted as standard.

SAFETY LATCHES: hooks are fitted with heavy duty cast steel latches. The latch and hook tip are integrated creating a strong and robust hook closure.

HOOK OVERLOAD AND TRACEABILITY MARKS: hooks have overload indicator marks either side of the hook throat (500kg to 10t). Both top and bottom hooks are embossed with a batch code, manufacturer's mark and the working load limit for full traceability and compliance to international standards.

HAND CHAIN JOINER: a unique hand chain joiner is used as a quick and secure method of joining the hand chain.

HOOK HOUSING: secured with socket head cap screws/hex head bolts and nyloc insert locking nuts to allow full inspection.

FLEETING/CROSS HAULING: independently tested (test report 2550-7615) for fleeting or cross hauling applications. Certified to angles up to 60° from the vertical without deration of the WLL.

LOAD CHAIN: fitted with load chain that fully complies with international standard BS EN818-7 Grade T (8).

OVERLOAD LIMITER: available as an option upon request.

BOTTOM HOOK: available with ball bearing adaptors as an option upon request.
